Worse performance on 5.0 compared to 4.2
Hello!
I just updated to Cubism 5 recently from 4.2, and I'm facing huge amounts of lag in the editor when sliding parameters while an Artmesh or deformer is selected as well as additional screen tearing when "Randomize parameters" is activated.
While lag is also present on the previous version, it is not as heavy as in 5.0. I have also tried the workaround for High DPI displays, and even unplugged the second monitor, but it did not improve the performance. I have attached a screen capture of the comparison between 5.0 and 4.2 with the Hiyori sample model.

I have tried every UI disabling option and the physics has gotten "better" but I am still experiencing fps drops here and there, albeit not as badly/consistently as when I didn't have the ui stuff turned off.
5.0 has been such poor performance I have been using 4.2 as it is the safest and most compatible thus far...

As I've posted above I've already tried the High DPI Scaling override and there has been no improvement. Additionally none of the displays I use are high res.
😥😥
Thank you for always using our products.
What happens if you open the Preferences in the menu of the Cubism Editor screen, turn off the HiDPI setting, and then try the workaround for the HiDPI problem suggested by Ran?
Also, try deleting the configuration file to see if it improves.
Also try booting from a BAT file.
Best regards.
Unfortunately I have not seen any improvement after following each of those steps. The slowdown I'm facing might not be related to the HiDPI setting (I don't have any high resolution monitors connected), and might instead be the update itself.
Using the BAT file to launch also did not seem to have any changes, as I'm still experiencing lag when using either just the bat file or the bat file that contains "d3d" in the filename.
I hope the next update will improve performance to the same level, if not better, as it was in 4.2.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
We are currently investigating the details of the issue.
Please provide the following information:
- Does the editor behave better when using only one monitor?
- Close all Windows resident applications
- If I have more than one mouse, what happens if I switch to another mouse?
Best regards.
