5.2.00 beta1 - Multiple form pasting won't work if the project file was created in an earlier ver.

edited December 2024 in Help
There seems to be a bug that causes multiple form pasting to not work if the project file was created in an earlier version (and also may lock the deformers when converting back to previous version). However, I can confirm that multiple form pasting still works if you create the project directly in 5.2 beta1. Video Link

  • Being more specific the problem happens on blendshapes only, when you do it to normal parameters they work, Also if you untick the preview status, it also work (strangely enough) (Thanks Kuroama for the specific on the end c:) So the preview option is the one bugged~~ (only working for normal parameters)
  • Thanks, Katomon!
I just tested it with normal parameters, and I can confirm it works. Unticking the preview status with blendshape parameters also fixes the issue.
So the bug is tied to the preview option + blendshape param.
  • + 1 to the deformers getting locked when opening the project back up in a previous version. Of course using the beta outside of just for testing isn't recommended, but it would be nice if in the next beta this could be fixed somehow or accounted for? (wasn't sure if I should make a new topic for it since it was mentioned here)
  • Hi @Tea_con @Katomon @cillia

Thank you for using the beta version so quickly.

We have shared your report with our development team.

    Best regards.
  • Hi @Tea_con @Katomon @cillia

Thank you for reporting the issue.
We are currently investigating a bug where pasting forms for multiple objects are not applied if Blend Shapes are used in the paste target.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
Please read below regarding a workaround and the timeline for a fix.

    ・Workaround Method
In the ”Where to apply form pasting” dialog that appears when pasting forms for multiple objects, uncheck the “Preview” checkbox in the display options and then press the OK button.
    * You can check how it will look when applied in the "Preview", so be sure to uncheck the box before applying.
Note: If the dialog does not appear, check Modeling > Edit Form > Confirm Target for Pasting Multiple Forms in the menu.

    ・Timeline for the Bug Fix
The fix for this issue is planned to be reflected into the official release version of 5.2.00.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work towards fixing the issue.
