Multi Select specific meshes in Mesh Edit
Sometimes when creating glue, some parts of the mesh need to be the same, but other parts don't. It would help if we could multi-select specific meshes from the list.
I want to suggest making the selection menu that appears when you click on empty space in edit mode enabled while pressing shift, and it would add the new selection to the current selection allowing multiple specific meshes to be selected. I think this would be a big quality of life improvement for anyone who uses a lot of glue!

But when a mesh is selected, there is no way to access this menu, and selecting multiple meshes can be difficult

The behavior I'm looking for would be that if you Shift-Click on the empty space when you have an active mesh, the menu would appear, and Shift-Clicking on another item would add it to the active selection. This would avoid any selection issues across layers.
It's also impossible to select layers that have no mesh, so if I want to start from scratch on new meshes for multiple objects, I have to be very careful not to deselect any object or I can't get it back into my selection since the click uses the mesh

My suggestion would make it so even if there are no meshes, you can select the layers you want to work on by shift-clicking!
