Importing a Live2D model into VisualNovelmaker

Hi, I was following the information here with my trial copy of Live 2D 3.3

to convert a Live2D cubism model I'd made in Live2d Cubism Editor 3.3 into a 2.1 Moc file (and an associated .mtn animation file) for use with Degica's VisualNovelMaker

I made a model - and it looks great and animates nicely in the 3.3 viewer as a Moc3 file...
but when I try to import the converted .moc 2.1 file into the 2.1 Live2D viewer
the model displays like this.


just a blank black box.

Can anybody tell me what I'm doing wrong? Does anyone know the best workflow for importing a Live2D Model complete with animations into Visual Novel maker? It seems like it should be much easier than this.
