Stroke to mesh sensitivity/auto adjustment fix

I wanna be able to control how much the stroke to mesh under manual mesh edit auto "corrects" the path. I use a tablet and will often draw around a surface, only to have it end up with some square/triangle spots and ignore the curve I drew entirely.

This makes me spend so much time fixing what should have been mostly done on a brush stroke.

Edit: I thought there was a workaround but there isn't. Any tight curves get badonked.

I believe it's related to drawing a longer stroke. There might be a limit of points. If the stroke is short, the lines follow correctly.

Examples:

Shorter stroke:





Longer stroke (where the problem happens very intensely)
