Seeking Tips for Improving Live2D Animation Skills

Hello everybody,

I am still learning Live2D but I am really excited to learn more about animation. I've been experimenting on my own and following some tutorials but I feel like there's so much more to learn. I am especially keen on making smoother and more expressive animations.

Could anyone share some tips or resources that have helped them in their Live2D journey ? Any suggestions for avoiding common mistakes or techniques to practice would be greatly appreciated. Additionally, assuming you have any suggestions for instructional exercises or courses that go past the essentials. I'd very much want to find out about them.

I already read this beginner's guide: https://blog.unvale.io/beginners-guide-to-live-2d-cpq but now I want to know more.

I appreciate your assistance in advance.

Thanks,
James

  • Hi James!

For more advanced stuff, Eggutarto (an amazing Live2D animator) has a course available with lots of exercises and project files. You can search them up! It's a paid course but I think it's really worth it.
Apart from that, experience is the best teacher and I'd suggest you practice as much as you can!

For resources that helped me, when I need ideas for Live2D animations I play gacha games lol, they often have really nice and expressive stuff.

    Good luck!!!
