[About macOS Sequoia] (Updated October 22, 2024)
Live2D Cubism Editor 5.1.02 now supports macOS Sequoia.
Other Live2D Cubism products currently released are not guaranteed to work on macOS Sequoia.
Please refrain from upgrading macOS, as it may not operate properly.

The latest version of ive2D does not run.

hello. I tried to update Live2D to the latest version.
However, if you update to the latest version, Live2D will not run.
https://help.live2d.com/ko/cubismeditor/cubism-does-not-start-win/
I don't think you can do it using the method shown here.
In versions 5.0.01 and higher, there is no turning motion at all and no matter how much you press, there is no response.
The version that can run is up to version 5.0.01, and other newer versions will not run.
How can I solve this problem?

specification
Windows 10/64bit
12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-12500 3.00 GHz
16.0GB
AMD Radeon RX 7600
Intel(R) UHD Graphics 770

And since it was written using a translator, the writing may be strange.

    hello.
When you say disable software, do you mean license?
Even if you cancel your license and re-register, you will not be able to run the latest version of Cubism.

Thank you for your assistance in identifying the issue.

We have reviewed our investigation so far and it is unlikely that this is a licensing issue.
Therefore, we would like to confirm the behavior of Cubism Editor that is occurring in your PC environment through the Call Stack tool.

In order to identify the cause of this issue, we'd like you to collect logs with a tool "callstackgetter" which can be downloaded in this link.
    https://dtbn.jp/ZGGUKgie
For instructions on how to use the tool, please read the readme.txt in the downloaded zip file answered.

Logs obtained by callstackgetter should be sent using this uploader.

We have received the logs and are investigating the issue based on your information, but we have not yet determined the cause. There are no crash logs for the expected Cubism Editor in the logs, and it appears to be starting up normally. Furthermore, in the logs provided earlier, there are no logs for versions 5.0.03 or 5.0.05 beta1, causing confusion.

For further investigation, we would like to confirm the following:

    1. Is it correct that versions of Cubism Editor that cannot start are 5.0.03 or later?
And is it correct that the version of Cubism Editor mentioned in the logs obtained from the call stack tool is 5.0.05 beta1?
This is necessary to speculate on what fixes are affecting the versions before and after.
    2. Can you start 5.0.05 beta1 by exiting any resident or security software?
If these software programs are running, they may be affecting the startup process of Cubism Editor.
    3. Are there any error logs related to Cubism Editor in the Windows Event Viewer? After double-clicking on the Cubism Editor that won't start, check to see if there are any logs for Cubism Editor in "Custom Logs - Administrative Events" or "Windows Logs - Application".

Hello, thank you for your reply.
    1. It is correct that it does not run from version 5.0.03 to the latest version.
And is the version that I need to get logs for using callstackgetter the one that isn't running?
The log sent this time is from version 5.0.01, the version currently in use.
To get the answer and get logs using callstackgetter, I ran version 5.0.05 beta1 which is not running and followed the callstackgetter tool documentation, but no matter how much I tried, nothing came out.
Afterwards, I checked to see if version 5.0.02 was running and found that up to version 5.0.02 was running.
2, As a result of verification, it did not run.
    3. After checking the event viewer, no error log was found.

The words may sound strange because I wrote the comment using a translator.

    Thank you for your response.
We are still in the process of confirming whether the issue can be reproduced internally, but we have not been able to reproduce it yet, and I apologize for the inconvenience.
To address the issue for you, could you please assist us a little further with the investigation?

    1. Could you uninstall the Cubism Editor 5.0.05 that cannot be launched and reinstall it to see if the issue persists?
    2. Following the instructions in the video, please launch [CubismEditor5.bat] or [CubismEditor5_d3d.bat] from the Windows command prompt. Then, submit the logs displayed in the command prompt and a video showing the actions you took.

Here are the steps for the video:

    1. Open the folder where Cubism Editor is installed using Windows Explorer.
    2. Click on the part of the address bar in Windows Explorer where the PATH is written, delete the PATH, and type "cmd" inside it. Press Enter.
    3. Windows Command Prompt should now open. In the opened Command Prompt, type [CubismEditor5.bat] or [CubismEditor5_d3d.bat] and press Enter.
    4. Check the string displayed in the Command Prompt, select it, and save the file as text by pasting it into Notepad or similar.

It's possible that nothing will be displayed in the Command Prompt. If that's the case, please let us know.
Please upload the obtained logs and video data here.

    Thank you for your cooperation.

    Thank you for your cooperation.

This error is a bit complex. While it's true that Cubism Editor 5.0.03 beta1 includes fixes related to this issue, this is the first time we've encountered this problem. Further investigation is needed.
    Please answer the following questions:

    1. What is the version of your graphics driver?
    2. Have you updated your graphics driver before?

Also, since there are errors related to OpenCL, it's possible that they are disabled.
Please perform the following steps to check the behavior:
1.Go to Settings -> System -> Display in Windows.
    2. Scroll down and click on "Graphics settings".
    3. If "GPU scheduling based on hardware accelerator" is enabled, disable it, and if it's disabled, enable it.
Restart your PC and launch Cubism Editor 5.0.05.

If the issue persists, you may need to try editing the registry.

    hello
    1,AMD Radeon RX 7600(31.0.24027.1012)
2, I updated my graphics driver, but the problem started happening even before that.

Due to an OpenCL-related error, I went into the graphics settings in the order you mentioned, but there was no indication of enable or disable.
  • @Nadellin_9

Based on the information you provided, I have conducted an investigation.

While I cannot confirm it, it's possible that OpenCL, which should be present in AMD graphics, is not functioning properly, potentially conflicting with the Intel graphics on the CPU.

Please respond to the following questions:

    1. When you navigate to [C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository] in Windows Explorer and search for "amdocl" in the search bar at the top right, do you find any files? You should find files named "amdocl.dll" or "amdocl64.dll".
    2. When you search for "amdocl" in the registry editor, do you find any hits? You can access the registry editor by searching for "regedit" in the Windows menu that appears when you press the Windows key, or it may be located in the "Windows Administrative Tools" folder.
Once the window appears, use "Edit -> Find" to search for the string "amdocl."

If amdocl64.dll exists in the file but not in \HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Khronos\OpenCL\vendors, create a key in the registry editor at \HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Khronos\OpenCL\vendors with the following details:
Name: Full path of the amdocl64.dll mentioned above
    Type: REG_DWORD
    Data: 0x00000000 (0)

Additionally, there are two other possible solutions to fix this issue:

    1. Switch the GPU that Cubism Editor is pointing to Intel graphics.
1.1. You can do this by selecting CubismEditor5.exe from the Windows graphics settings and choosing "Power Saving (Intel Graphics)" from the options.
There may also be a way to control this through an application called "AMD Radeon Settings," but we are not familiar with that method.

    2. Uninstall the Intel graphics and reinstall the latest version (please be careful, as this is a bit risky).
2.1. Open the Windows Start menu and search for "Apps & Features."
2.2. Search the list for "IntelGraphicsDriver." Note that this driver may also be referred to as "Intel Graphics Media Accelerator Driver (Intel GMA Driver)."
2.3. Right-click on "IntelGraphicsDriver" and select "Uninstall."
2.4. Follow the uninstallation prompts through the Intel Installation Framework window. Complete the process and ensure you can restart the system.
2.5. After restarting the system, launch CubismEditor.
2.6. If no crashes occur, update to the latest version of the Intel graphics driver. You can find the download location by searching for the CPU model number and the term "graphics driver."
