Live2D and After Effects

I understand you can create motions and animations by importing the Live2D model into After Effects, and then also export the motion and be able to see/edit it in the Live2D Animator.

But-

Let's use for example, falling petals.
I want these petals to fall forever looping.
But I don't want them to always be showing.
I want to be able to toggle the petals on/off as I please.
For example, make it an idle motion and set a parameter to make it appear/disappear.

Am I able to do this using the motion file, or is this one of those things that if I want that flexibility, I'm gonna have to export it as a png sequence?
