After a quick look around, all the tutorials I could find work with the presumption that the user has Photoshop. Is it possible to use this software without it? Would Illustrator/Inkscape do the job?
It's not mandatory really, you can arrange your model body parts in Illustrator and save them to PNG format, and then you import it as a texture in Cubism Editor and manually place them.
PSD format has benefit of PSD import feature in Cubism Editor, which you don't have to manually place body parts.
Comments
I make them with Paint tool SAI and it's alright.
