OpenJDK Memory Spike When Launching Live2D Cubism (Possible Memory Leak?)

Hi, I’m encountering a serious issue where Live2D Cubism causes OpenJDK memory usage to spike immediately on launch.
This happens even when I’m not opening any project—simply starting the program will cause the memory to climb rapidly until it becomes unusable. It looks like a potential memory leak, but I’m not sure if something else could be causing it.

Here’s what I’ve already tried:

1.Reinstalled Live2D Cubism Editor (version 5.2)
2.Restarted my PC.
3.Edited MAX_MEMORY (I have 32GB RAM, and I set MAX_MEMORY=20000)
4.Deleted the L2D automatic backup folder.

None of these changes solved the issue.

I’m looking for advice on what else could cause OpenJDK to consume such a large amount of memory during startup, or whether this is a known issue.

▼ For question regarding Editor:

- Live2D Software Version: Live2D Cubism Editor 5.2.03
- OS & Version:Windows 10
- PC Model: (Custom PC model/Without specific manufacturer, with ASUSTek Motherboard)
- Graphics Specifications: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti
- CPU:Intel Core i7-12700K
- Memory: 32GB
- Illustration Software used: Photoshop

I’ve attached the log file generated when launching Live2D Cubism Editor 5.2 for reference.
Thanks in advance for any help or insight.

  • The memory you dont need to change it on the files since it automatically allocates your entire ram (just after the line of allocating the 2000 it says to allocate your entire memory that is just like the "initial" value)

Does the value increase by itself alone, like you not opening files/use the software?, usually is normal to like increase to 600mb ram on start and climb up to 1gb even, but after you open projects can keep escalating (up to the max of your ram) and it will lag... but you are sayign that this happens ocne you open and right away.

I could recommend try to Beta 5.3 if it happens (they did a change taht it feels less laggy idk what change it was)

Also seeing your log, you are using your integrated graphics and not your 3060 remmeber to change that option in your power settings in windows !

Hi!! Thank you for replying to my question.
Yes, the issue happens right at startup.
Live2D immediately maxes out the memory usage even when I haven’t opened any cmo3 files.
    Here’s the screenshot:

I’ve already tried forcing Live2D to use my dedicated GPU and also installed the 5.3 Beta version, but the problem still happens — the memory gets fully occupied the moment the program launches.
I’ve attached several screenshots showing the methods I’ve tried as well as the log file.
(I'm using a Chinese Windows system.)

  • !!!!RESOLVED: Clearing the files from \AppData\Roaming\Live2D and allowing the .bat file to recreate this fixed the issue; It loads now.

Thanks for Matt from Live2D Discord Community and Katomon!!!
    im sooo happy
