5.3 Beta - Strange behavior with new bezier warp

edited August 29 in Help
With 5.2 compatibility settings on (and how it always worked previously), you can Ctrl + Drag the bezier to deform the warp while ignoring the child object.

With new 5.3 setting, the child object gets deformed while doing this, but also the warp weirdly snaps back? Observe the following

Is this intended new behavior? It seems odd to me that it only deforms the child.
For me since Ctrl+Drag has always been used to resize the warp without affecting child, I would like this behavior to be retained in new 5.3 setting if possible.
