Needing help at increasing the RAM limit of Live2d.

I've been using Live2d for quite a while and recently ran into a problem after switching back to my fixed pc, I've noticed the program takes too long or lags too much while creating a mesh or editing a parameter, I so happen to find NamiAthena's thread "RAM Capping at 2G" and also have done about everything they detail including other things like cleaning backups and following the instructions given by staff below that one post, yet it doesn't seem to work for me, this wasn't a problem before I sent my PC to repair, and it was with my laptop but I just assumed it would get automatically fixed once I had my work device back.

I was wondering if there's a new updated fix to this problem, it's causing me troubles even if I'm working with under 10 layer models.

  • Usually the program starts with just 2Gb (that is the minimum) but when is initiating it reads your ram and allocates all fo it into the system, on the bottom right it shows how much you are using it (of the total)

It actually seems to cap at half gb (I've loaded a somewhat heavy model just now just to check), uh oh, I'll try changing the location of Live2d to see if anything changes.
  • Ok, early update, I tried what I've said and it doesn't seem to change anything, I've tried changing the virtual memory even but it's still the same, however, changing Live2d's priority into a high one on task manager and changing my drive's (where I like to have Live2d at) virtual memory into administered by the system does seem to help a bit.

It does still worry me, since the model that is lagging is only 928 KB, the "bigger" model still takes longer to load or respond, and I have even bigger models some which I have to go back into working on them and it's making me worry in case they end up almost non-responsive.
  • Try to set memory usage according to the following page.
    https://docs.live2d.com/4.2/en/cubism-editor-manual/memory-usage/

This adjustment might help improve performance.
  • Obsidian: on taht same page it says "Note: The following settings are no longer required due to the new “Optimize Java memory allocation for editors” feature implemented in Cubism Editor 3.1.
However, if you wish to control memory usage yourself, please configure the following settings."

Yolk, that amount is the one in use and allocated, it grows by itself depending on the model, and the amount of art, are you sure is not laggy because you are having glue or bugged artmeshes ? (On the log should show a lot of red, that lags a lot the program)
